I have been alerted to the fact that there have been some display issues on the Broadland Memories website over the last few weeks – the pale blue background which sits behind the text and photos has not been loading when viewing the site, rendering text unreadable. This seems to be limited to just a few visitors who are using IE8 as their web browser, although most IE8 users are having no problems at all. This does seem to be a known issue with IE8 in how it handles PNG images on some websites, but why it is only affecting some people and not others is a little baffling. If you are experiencing these problems with the site and have another web browser on your computer which you can use, then please do so for the time being. No issues have been reported with Firefox or Chrome, and the website seems to be working fine with IE9 Beta.
I am still looking into things and will try some fixes on Broadland Memories later this week which will hopefully alleviate the problem.
